Rhinoplasty Case #19

This is a 20 year old young lady who participates in beauty pageants and came in to our office in Webster, Texas with her parents to consult for a rhinoplasty. She complains of nasal airway obstruction and difficulty breathing. She is 5’7” and weighs 120 pounds. During her consultation, the surgeon discovered her nose was significantly deviated to the left with a nasal airway impingement in the left portion of the nose. The recommendation was for a septal rhinoplasty. The procedure was performed in our private surgical suite and the patient went home the same day. Seven days after her procedure, the splint was removed and she was able to see that her nose was now in the midline. After a couple of weeks she had improvement in her breathing and shortly thereafter she returned to competition winning the Miss Houston pageant.
